“I’m not a teacher, only a fellow traveler of whom you asked the way. I pointed ahead — ahead of myself as well as you.” — George Bernard Shaw
James Ricklef is a Tarot reader, lecturer, and writer. He has been a frequent workshop presenter at Tarot conferences from Los Angeles to New York. He is the author of several Tarot books, and is currently working on one about the spiritual messages of the Tarot cards, and how to incorporate that into Tarot readings.
James’s book Tarot Affirmations is a preliminary look at using the Tarot in more spiritual, life affirming ways though the use of affirmations associated with Tarot cards. The Tarot and spirituality book he is currently working on goes far beyond that though as it will provide spiritual messages for all of the Tarot cards. These spiritual messages were divined from the cards, one per day over the course of about three quarters of a year. James posted this series of articles on his Tarot blog, and you can find a list of links to them here: jamesricklef.wordpress.com/tag/spirituality/
Besides their obvious purpose of expanding our spiritual insights, these posts can also help you deepen your knowledge of the cards in general. However, you don’t have to know about—or even care about—the Tarot to use and assimilate the value of these spiritual insights because they are timeless and universal.
Although he is now focusing more on organizing and polishing these Tarot and spirituality articles for his book-in-progress, James still posts about this topic on his blog, and these posts can be found using the dynamic content of the preceding link.
The following Ram Dass quote succinctly explains why James is doing this work:
“We are all on the journey towards enlightenment and at each stage must share what has been discovered with those who will listen. The sharing is part of the work. The listening is part of the work. We are all on the path.”
